Three Ways to Improve Our Home Life

I just finished reading Elder Bednar's talk from October General Conference. He discusses three ways to be "more diligent and concerned at home." I definitely feel like expressing and showing love as well as bearing testimony are vitally important to family relations. However, it is the third suggestion that has led me to stop and think. He encourages us to develop consistency in our home lives. I feel like we are working towards that in our family. However, the question that keeps coming to mind is how consistent I am being in my own personal life? I feel dreadfully inconsistent, especially in how I spend my time. I believe I have been blessed with the ability to get a lot done in a short time, but that has led to me wasting much of my extra time. The only answer that is coming to me is to be more organized and disciplined. However, I wonder if there are other ways to develop consistency. What do you think?

July 24, 1996

How time flies! It is hard to believe that 12 years ago today I entered the MTC to begin my mission to Puebla, Mexico. I have many fond memories of my mission experience, even though it was not without its share of challenges. As I look back on those two years, I realize that, although there are certainly things that time and experience have taught me that I would do differently, I tried my best and therefore do not have any regrets. Now, if only I can live the rest of my life the same way!

Some initial thoughts about this blog's purpose...

Hello everyone! I have been thinking for some time now about having a blog where I can post some basic spiritual thoughts and insights. It seems that there are plenty of blogs that attack the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (the Mormons), so I thought I could offer a faithful perspective on spiritual topics. However, before I go much further, I want to clarify on what this blog IS NOT: I do not want to use this site as a forum to debate others' beliefs about specific topics. Rather, I will talk about some of the insights I have and how the Church influences my life, and others are welcome to ask sincere questions about our beliefs. This is definitely a work in progress, but I hope that it will slowly morph into something useful for others.
